Help Unlocking iPhone 16 (SIM Locked) – Purchased from Reseller in Lebanon

I recently purchased an iPhone 16 from a reseller in Lebanon, and I’ve discovered that it’s currently **SIM locked**. I’d like to unlock it so I can use it with a different carrier.

Here are the details:

  • Model: iPhone 16
  • Purchase Source: Third-party reseller in Lebanon -
  • Current Issue: Device is SIM locked
  • IMEI Numbers:
  •  350753696548064
  • 350753696155886
  • Since this phone wasn’t purchased directly from a carrier, I’m not sure what steps I need to take to get it unlocked. If T-Mobile is the original carrier for this device, could someone please guide me through the unlocking process? Are there any requirements or documents needed? Any help would be greatly appreciated — I just want to make sure I can use this phone freely with another carrier. Thanks in advance!

When I go to Tmobile's imei checker they can't confirm if the phone is blocked so you may have a lost or stolen phone if blocked.

Never buy a USA carrier branded IPhone because it won't get unlocked because the unlock request will go to Apple and get turned down because the requirements weren't met.

The only process is having the phone in the USA, opening a prepaid line of service, deposit $100 in refills and wait 17 days.

I completely understand that the phone wasn’t purchased directly from T-Mobile — I bought it **used** from a reseller in Lebanon, and I wasn't aware it was locked to your network until after the purchase.

I'm not trying to bypass any system or take over someone else's account. The device is clean — no unpaid bills, no blacklist, no theft report — it's just locked because it was originally sold on T-Mobile.

Since that’s the only issue, shouldn't there be a way for me — as the current owner — to get it unlocked officially, even if I’m not the original customer?

I’m stuck with a phone I can’t use, and going back to the seller may not be an option. I’m not asking for special treatment, just a clear and official way to unlock the device so I can use it freely.

Is there any process I can follow to make this happen?

Thank you for your time and help.

Thanks for the response, but honestly, this is really frustrating. I didn’t buy this phone to have it sit in my drawer doing nothing. If T-Mobile is the original carrier, then technically I’m being locked out of using a device I paid good money for — just because I'm not a customer?

I checked the IMEIs (350753696548064 and 350753696155886) through various services, and there's no sign of unpaid bills or that the phone is blacklisted. So if that’s the case, why should I be punished? Why can’t I unlock the phone and use it with another carrier like any other device?

The phone also needs to be purchased from Tmobile which a Lebanese reseller isn't.

Since you're not a customer Tmobile can't help you so take it back to the reseller.
