Newbie

I'm new to the T Mobile community switching over from US Cellular. The reason for switching is because of the rumored US Cellular buyout, and also interested in the upcoming Starlink communication making it possible to have talk/text pretty much anywhere. Although I don't have the connection I had w/US Cellular the T Mobile Gateway is much faster. I wounder if T Mobile has any plans to utilize the US Cellular towers ? I defiantly would help the coverage in my area increasing T Mobile's customer base. Thanks to all that reply!

  • I do think T-Mobile will use a lot of the US Cellular towers to fill in places where T-Mobile has no coverage or covergae that can be improved.  It probably won't be an immediate switch over because T-Mobile will need potentially convert those towers over to a deployment more friendly with the rest of the T-Mobile network.  Some of the Sprint towers took the better part of 2 years to come online under T-Mobile.

As far as their internet, it's awesome!! I have 3 bars and most of my devices are showing everything in at least 720 and even have my tablet show a YouTube program in 1080 last night!! We are getting Fiber in my area this summer and if I hadn't already made a financial obligation to them I'd be happy with T Mobile's Gateway!! As mentioned in previous posts, if their signal improves in my area, I'll be a customer for life!

That's good news as I live on the edge of service. I was originally going to return my phones/Gateway and go back to my old carrier but I believe the service will only get better. Hopefully they will take over/activate a tower in my area to cover the weak signal area soon.

According to the Rep that signed us up Sunday, with the plan we have we are enrolled? I know I've seen the satellite image pop up on my phone a couple of times so hopefully that's a positive sign...
