RCS Disabled After Reinstating Account
I've read various proposed fixes from Google and T-Mobile websites as well as Reddit and, after trying the following and not solving it, can find only one thing that could be the problem.
- Restart Phone
- Toggle Airplane Mode
- Set Default Text App to Samsung Messages
- Clear Cache and Data from Google Messages, Force Stop
- Disable Google Messages
- Clear Cache and Data from Samsung Messages
- Restart Phone - Make Sure Airplane Mode is Off
- Test RCS on Samsung - Just SMS/MMS
- Enable Messenger and Set as Default (no choice)
- Still No RCS
I won't reset my phone. It's not my phone or app settings. This happened directly after my account was reinstated.
I found posts about the server moves from Jibe to T-Mobile from last year and the T-Mobile servers causing potential problems with RSC. Did T-Mobile move my account from a Jibe server to a T-Mobile server when it reinstated? What's the problem with the T-Mobile servers.
Will someone there please move my account back so I can use RSC texting? I need the end-to-end encryption. This is the account I paid for and expect to receive. Thank you.

Turn off RCS Messages in Google Messages when it is set to the default messaging app. Go to the Play Store and uninstall all updates for Google Messages. Open Google Messages and enable RCS messages. Go back to the Play Store and update the Google Messages app to the latest version. RCS should be working again.

I wrote this before logging in. I tried doing that and reposting but the system isn't letting me. I'll try to keep up with this thread.
