Preferred Network Mode: 22

I have a T-Mobile LG G7 ThinQ phone that is permanently unlocked that I bought on eBay for International Travel.  My issue is that I cannot get a network signal when I put in my T-Mobile sim card or any other working sim card.  When I look at mobile networks the network mode says Preferred network mode: 22 and does not allow me to change to another network mode.  If i try to search for network operators i get an error while searching for networks.  I can connect to Wi-Fi but it takes several minutes for it to begin showing any available Wi-Fi networks.  I am trying to get it connected while still in the USA so the problem is not being outside of T-Mobile's network.

Any suggestions how to resolve this?

    LG has been out of the cellphone business for years now and that device is way beyond the support window.  US cellular networks to not use 2G/3G for calls so the device must be VoLTE compatible with T-Mobile USA to work.  If it isn't, it will not be allowed to connect to the network.
