how can I sync visual voicemail automatically?

I have galaxy S-5 with android marshmello and visual voicemail is not working. It won't sync automatically and I can't find where to set that. It does not show if I have a message waiting on the ...

    I figured it out I deleted the app icon and used the widget, thanks

Hey @laraby‌!  Sorry to read you're having trouble with your message waiting indicator!  Has your phone always behaved like this?  Out of curiosity, is it a T-Mobile Galaxy S5?
