DIGITS problem calling landline phone
My DIGITS line was able to successfully make calls to landline phones until recently. Now, when I dial a landline phone number, I get no sound whatsoever--no ringing sound, no voice if someone answers and no voicemail greeting when there is no answer. This is not a problem when I call a cellphone. I've already verified the settings for microphone, phone and the phone number is registered. I've reinstalled the DIGITS app. The problem persists.
After trying some alternatives, the DIGITS app can place landline calls via my PC and T-Mobile website, and using my cellphone, some calls to businesses do go through properly via DIGITS.
After further investigation, it appears that the problem is specific to calls placed to phone numbers on Verizon landlines!? All the usual troubleshooting steps have failed to resolve the issue.
