Voicemail

Please advise how to disable voicemail on google pixel 6

    T-Mobile tech support advised it had to be done by them. No way to disable voicemail from the pixel 6.

    Whatever. 555-1212 used to be a dead line. I just tried it in my area code and got directory assistance. So, my advice is out of date.

    Voicemail works by using GSM’s conditional forwarding to send incoming calls to another number under three conditions: Busy, Out-of-range and Unanswered. You used to be able to turn off voicemail by canceling.conditional forwarding. Then T-Mobile implemented DCF (Defined Conditional Forwarding (a pox upon them for it)) which resets the conditional forwards  to voicemail if you attempt to deactivate them. As a user, you only option is to forward the calls somewhere else.
