  • US Bank is telling me that T-Mobile is blocking text messages to my cell phone. Is this true?

    Have you tried contacting T-Mobile Support about the issue?  Is your account a business account?  If it isn’t, these messages might be being interpreted as spam.

    This is my specialty. Did you get this resolved? I know it sounds counter productive, but its best if you open a ticket with Twilio who will open tickets with the intercarrier clearinghouse  which then routes to T-Mobile. I handle several of those issues and interact with Twilio staff almost daily.

    Why would that be true?  T-Mobile does not block incoming texts unless they are spam or scams.

    Because it is.  I am having the same problem, bank just told me that T-Mobile is blocking the calls and texts.

    That sounds like your bank is just trying to shift the blame instead of solve the problem.

    Because it is.  I am having the same problem, bank just told me that T-Mobile is blocking the calls and texts. 

    Are you on a legacy prepaid or on an old no credit check plan? If no then it’s your bank as certain legacy plans which there is no credit check would block most short codes.  New plans from the last 4 year iirc no longer have the restriction.

  • Well, no. T-mobile was blocking it thru a safety feature that I was able to turn off. Nothing malicious happening on T-Mobile or the bank, just a safe guard that prevented activity I needed.  I was able to turn it off thru the app and everything is working is fine now. Point is, it was a T-Mobile issue, not the bank. Thank you for your response.

    That's not an issue.  You had a feature enabled that did more than you might have realized.  This feature is not enabled by default.
