Returning customer but days in and still no service. Scammed and upset.

I was a T-Mobile customer for years and loved my service. Moved to a town where I could not get service at work where I need it most so had to switch.  5g is up now and I was anxious to switch back. Returning Home was my vibe and I was excited.

When the iphone 14 launched I called in (didn’t yet know if i would buy my phone from Apple or T-Mobile) the sales person was super nice but very aggressive but that was expected and I didn't mind. After several long holds I was advised that the phone wasn't available yet and would most likely be by the end of the week. I said I would call back then to process my change but the person pressed that it was best to continue the process so that once I had the phone everything would be much faster and easier to set up.

She then mentioned that as a gift for returning that I would receive a smart watch for free. I explained I would never use it (I have a apple watch and stopped wearing it a while back and have no interest in that type of product). she pressed that it was free and moved forward. Everything is processed and she took a payment for the account activation and I thought a sim was being sent to me. I thought I was being charged for a sim card that later I found out the new phone does use and nothing was sent to me aside from a watch and no paperwork or receipt. I was hoping to verify my charges since she spoke so fast.

Later I decide to buy from apple because I don't want to be in a contract of any kind. When I had called about the phone I was promised a $1000 trade in which seemed better than the apple $300. I had been put on hold several times for a long time and after an unreasonably long call They mention that the $1000 would be charged and they would credit it one payment at a time locking me in to the most expensive plan for a  number of years. I declined and ordered from apple.

All the while I still want to get access to my account but the website will Not give me access unless I can receive a code sent to my phone. At the time I have no phone with the company, just a account.

I receive my phone a few days later and call to transfer my carrier and get my new phone setup. The person seemed confident and kind but confused as to why I had an account with no phone connected yet. I kept being asked about a sim card even though the 14pro uses an eSim. I was calling from the number being ported (from my old phone), he was aware of this and I asked several times to make sure the phone was set up first so that when they process the port that I'm not left with a dead phone. Promptly he says that the port is processed. I reminded him of my phone again and he started asking for my phone codes and such. Middle of this process the phone dies. My phone number has not been taken from me completely and its the only phone I have. I cant access my account, or my phone number.

I had to wait the entire day until I can borrow a phone from someone to call in. I get the nicest person yet but I didn't call sales. Explained my issue and she pulls my account up and starts repeating back what i am setup for and tells me I am being charged a monthly charge for my new watch as well as contracted with that watch since its a similar program as the fake trade in $1000. I freak out because i told the woman I didn't want the watch and would never have agreed to this. She says that this will have to be removed and the watch will need returned since it wasn't free but to do that ill need to have to speak to Buyers Remorse department which was closed.

Moving forward she wont be able to activate my phone because in order to activate my phone I need to verify it is me my receiving a text message to the number of which they had taken from me. Clearly I'm calling in because my phone isn't setup. So if I want to activate my phone I will need to go another day w/o a phone till I get off work and can go and wait in the store to verify my identity. She promised to make many notes explaining the situation and that she would have the store people make the call for me and so on. I was defeated.

The logic is insane. If I called back right then and they had not ported my number yet and wanted to sign up they would happily change me over. They didn't ask for any such verification when they took my number from me for the port but wont give the number back to me by activating my phone? I have now been bait and switched as well as my number taken from me. I am out money and have no access to an account or receipt.  I am so angry and have lost all my love of the company. I no longer even want to work with this company. I want to cancel it totally but I cant because T-Mobile now has my phone number and I cant get a pin to take it back because I don't have access to it.

I understand sales teams have their own pressure but those goals should not be put ahead of a customers loyalty.  I am only posting this because for some reason I cant access my account but it will let me access these forums and my frustration is overflowing and I needed to let it be known. I have hours of calls, 2 days with no phone at all and a bill on my credit card with nothing to show for it and now I need to go in to the store where I will have to try and communicate all of this to an employee who isn't responsible. I just want out. I cant even talk to a new carrier because I don't have a pin and don’t trust that T-Mobile will let me go and don't want to have 2 accounts and still have no phone.
