Phone line set up with no network

I am trying to switch phone carriers to T-Mobile but currently out to sea and don’t have access to a cell phone reception until I pull into port in another country.  Would I be able to set up my phone line without a cell connection? Or be able to set up my phone line on a cell connection in another country?

  • Continental USA. You can try contacting Tmobile support using messenger on one of tmobile's social media platforms like Facebook or Twitter to see if they may know a way to activate the sim.

@gramps28 That’s unfortunate, but I appreciate the info, I’ll reach out to Tmobile support to see if they might have a way to activate the sim.  Thanks

@gramps28 Understandable. But does that mean I have to be connected to Tmobile USA towers in the Continental US or can I be connected to a tower they might use for international coverage to activate?  Say in a country in Asia?

There's tourist always wanting to activate their sims before they land in the states so the phone is ready to go not realizing they need to be connected to Tmobile USA towers to do so.
