New TMO-G4SE internet gateway installed 6 days ago (1/3), everything worked out of the box. I disconnected the ethernet cable from my Cox modem (to my Netgear R6700 router), and connected it to the LAN port on the T-Mobile gateway. All my existing APs and SSIDs stayed the same - that's were most of the smart home devices are connected. It was seamless. Can't remember if I rebooted the router or not. Yesterday morning (1/9) I woke up to find all the old Wi-Fi SSIDs were still on, but nothing connected to them was getting internet (waiting for an IP address...). Every night the Netgear gets power cycled using a timer switch so that it will reboot, so I presume the reboot on night 6 is when they lost internet. Interestingly, ethernet connections to the Netgear kept working. T-Mobile tech support were no help. "your third-party equipment might be incompatible, we can sell you a new mesh wi-fi, call Netgear...) 2 x hard resets on the TMO gateway , plus untold number of reboots of the router, brought everything back. I can't find a solution in the usual places, reddit, youtube, etc., I'm guessing I need to change something in the Netgear router? Change the router to AP or bridge mode? There's nothing to change in the TMO gateway, all you can do is disable the wifi. What can I look for in the router the next time this happens to the wifi? 3 of the 4 last weekends, my Gateway has been randomly loosing signal and restarting. On Fridays or Saturdays, it's minimal, once or twice a day, a few hours apart - if at all. But three of the last four Sundays between 9pm and 1am this happens 5+ times. Sometimes I barely get 10 minutes between these occurences. I'll call tech support (again) later this week. Anyone else have issues like this? Gateway signal loss and restart, especially concentrated in one particular time frame each week? The usual checks out - wires are plugged in correctly, the gateway doesn't feel hot or anything, signal is good - regularly 4/5 bars (except for the moments before a restart), firmware is up-to-date (though I don't have manual control, it's all automatic.) The only thing I do on Sundays between those times different from the rest of the week is video chat on Discord. I live in Arlington, Virginia, which is 5 miles from the White House in Washington DC. I have one 3 of 4 bars at my home. I have zero signal in my office building in Arlington, Virginia however, AT&T and Verizon have plenty of signal in my office building. When I open tickets or reach out to T-Mobile they insult my intelligence with explanations about how my phone hasn’t been reset or troubleshot or all this, but the reality is the signal here is really bad and something needs to be done or somebody needs to give me a discount and I will take my 25+ years of loyal service to AT&T or Verizon.Arlington4 hours agoVisitor6Views0likes0CommentsThis makes no sense and customer service is clueless on fixing issue?
The other day, I accidentally left my phone at a T-Mobile store. After driving for about an hour, I realized my mistake, but by then, the store had already closed for the day. In a pinch, I pulled out my iPad Air 5th generation from my bag and opened the Digits app, hoping to regain access to my phone number. I had successfully logged into the app about a week ago, so I expected everything to work smoothly. However, as soon as I tried to sign in, the screen displayed a message saying, "Please log in to your account to register and use the app." I entered my credentials, watched the loading symbol spin, and then was met with a frustrating prompt: "We are having some difficulties. Please sign in again. If this error persists, contact T-Mobile care at 611 and report the issue." I tried to log in four times, only to face the same problem each time. Frustrated, I decided to delete the app and reinstall it, but that didn’t solve the issue either. Without my phone, making a call to T-Mobile wasn't an option, so I turned to live chat for assistance. Unfortunately, the wait time was long, and when I finally connected with an agent, they seemed completely oblivious to my dilemma. I explained my situation, emphasizing that I wanted help to regain access to the Digits feature so I could make calls. The agent replied that the app wouldn't allow me to make calls, which left me bewildered. I tried to clarify, mentioning that I usually have my iPad linked to my phone number, allowing both devices to ring when receiving a call. They had no response to my explanation, which was incredibly disappointing. To make matters worse, I encountered another issue when trying to access my T-Mobile account through my web browser. I could log in using my email and password just fine, but when I attempted to sign in on the T-Mobile app, it rejected my password. Everything seems to be malfunctioning lately, and I'm running into roadblocks trying to access my phone number as a backup for emergencies since it’s linked to my iPad. I cancelled my service back in Aug and paid the balance then i got a collections in the mail today saying i owe money for not paying my bill. Then i was told my service was NEVER turned off and i still have an active account. I was on the business line and was told i could cancel anytime i wanted. Has anyone had the same experience as me with getting a new phone, and then returning the old one to get a promo, just to be told that it wasn't scanned in @ the t-mobile warehouse, even though I have UPS tracking and proof of delivery? They show the package was received via tracking but that the phone wasn't scanned in so they're not going to honor my promotion. This is absolutely awful! I did what I was supposed to do, and now I'm being punished because some incompetent employees either lost of stole the phone from the warehouse. If anyone has had this problem and been able to get it resolved, please share your experience and what you may have done.
