How do I verify my eligible military status?

After activating or switching to Go5G Military or Go5G Plus Military you'll need to verify your military status. Ensure that the military person or Gold Star family member is designated as the primary account holder. Visit a T-Mobile retail store and one of our retail experts will walk you through the process. If you're making the change over the phone and need to verify, you can verify your status at

  • The validation process typically happens in a few quick steps and takes less than 10 minutes. You will have 45 days from plan activation to verify your eligible military status or you will be moved to Go5G or Go5G Plus with no military discount, which will result in a price increase.
  • In some cases, you will be asked to upload documentation to verify your eligible military status.

Who is eligible for Go5G Military or Go5G Plus Military?

Customers with eligible military status and their families, including active duty military, veterans, National Guard, Reserve, and Gold Star family members, are eligible for Go5G Military or Go5G Plus Military.

1) Military individual must be the primary account holder & account must maintain a valid military line.
2) T-Mobile for Business customers are eligible up to 12 lines; however, government accounts are not eligible.
3) No Credit Check and Prepaid customers are not eligible.

Do I need to submit documentation to verify my military status?

In some cases, you may be asked to provide additional details to verify your eligibility (such as Business customers with account type "B"). If further information is required, you will be notified right away, and will need to upload documents confirming your military status to complete your verification.

What documents will be accepted to verify military status?

We will accept any document that proves you are serving or have served with honorable discharge, and displays your first and last name, valid dates, and/or status (for example veteran or active duty). T-Mobile will accept numerous forms of verification, but the most common documents are DD214, leave and earnings statements, and orders.
