Rated 4 out of 5 by Super Stylin and Super Fast This phone was my first step into the Windows Phone world and although a little quirky at first, quickly became intuitive and efficient. The live tiles are such a great way to setup your home screen that it makes me wonder why it wasn't done like this sooner. The battery life is outstanding unless you're using GPS (Nokia was years ahead and still has the best navigation application) like I do but as long as you turn off location services you'll have juice for days. The screen is vivid and felt a little big to me at first but within a couple days the screens on other phones just looked puny. The OS is fast and efficient so it doesn't need battery hogging multiple core processors. More and more apps are becoming available. Major apps like facebook, twitter, CNN, Vine, Netflix, Flixster, Redbox, Micorsoft Office, Snapchat, Yelp, Yammer, Evernote, Ebay, Amazon, Craigslist, Kindle, etc.. and even most business and personal social networks are up and ready to be installed. On top off all that it looks sleek and especially with the all metal outer edge feels rugged, expensive, and classy all at the same time. Also it uses the standard micro usb cable for charging/data transfer so it's rather convenient to charge while you're out and about. A couple downsides are that it's gotten hot a few times when I was using the GPS and had it plugged in which caused it to restart itself. The camera isn't the greatest since it's a lower resolution and doesn't have xenon flash (just weak LED). They overcome this with deluxe photo software but it's still best to have the xenon. Also, it doesn't have an SD Card slot. They try to make up for this by giving you free cloud storage but I like having the ability to expand my storage at will. April 14, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Had phone replaced 4 times for a total of 5 phones had trouble with light intensity shifting , garbled calls especially with speakerphone. wouldn't take full charge always. last one with full charge screen went blank for two days and charging no help. all this over 7 months. Win 8.0 Black no problem as I'm familiar with all versions of windows and like it alot. mostly hardware problems with this phone. I'm jumping to the new Samsung Galaxy s5 phone in April and maybe a Gear 2 watch. March 30, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Turns itself off apps sux too sensitive if bumped shuts off never would have bought it if I tried it first looks aren't everything March 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by First Smartphone This is my first step into the smartphone world. My dad and sister have iPhones, my husband an android. Neither of them were appealing. I immediately fell in love with the idea of the windows phone. and it's UI hasn't disappointed. I love the versatility of setting up your start screen. My mom and youngest sister have windows phones and it's amazing how different our three phones are just due to the personalized set up. The battery will drain fast if you're playing games (and heat up quite a bit), which I try to avoid. But generally, I can get the battery to last a day an a half. The nokia music app is awesome (unless it updates and you forget to update your offline playlist - they become unavailable until updated). The camera is amazing. I did a test shot with my husbands HTC (no flash, low lighting in the room) and the picture from his phone was grainy and oddly colored, this phone: perfect. March 25, 2014

To upgrade early, you’ll need to pay off your entire Equipment Installment Plan. You can do this by calling Customer Care or visiting a T-Mobile retail store.

Yes. You once your phone is paid off, it’s paid off. From that point on you will only pay be billed for the T-Mobile rate plan, and services, or features you’ve chosen.

When your new phone arrives simply follow the manufacturer’s set-up procedure and start using it. If you purchased a new T-Mobile SIM card to use in your own device, you will need to insert the new card and then you are good to go.

You can upgrade your phone at any time. If you have an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) you’ll need to pay that off first, then you’re free to select a new phone. It’s as easy as that. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

To find out if you’re eligible for a rebate or a promotion all you need to do is answer a few simple questions.

Other carriers recover the cost of the phone with higher recurring monthly rate plan charges. Their customers continue to pay higher monthly rates even after the phone is paid off. Only T-Mobile offers a plan that automatically lowers the cost of the monthly bill when the phone is paid off.

We offer free, overnight shipping on certain new phones and devices. Otherwise, we will send your purchase using standard 2-4 business days shipping. Look for special promotions where all phones and devices include free, overnight shipping.

No. When you group phones into a family plan when purchasing on T-Mobile.com, you must either pay for all of them up front, or over time.

No. If you choose to pay over time, your payments will be interest-free.

You must purchase insurance within the first 14 days of buying a new device. To learn more about Premium Handset Protection Insurance or to learn about our other bundled features simply follow the link.

If you cancel your service, you still need to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

Refurbished phones offered by T-Mobile have been inspected and tested to ensure they’re in good working order, and they all come with a limited 90-day warranty. They also come with the same return policy as our new devices: 20 days from the date of your order; 30 days in California.

Unlike other carriers that give you a discounted rate on the phone up front and then bury the costs in your monthly bill, we charge you the full retail price. In order to make payments more manageable, qualifying new and current customers can take advantage of our Equipment Installment Plan (EIP).

    Here's how phone payments work:

EIP (Equipment Installment Plan) pricing allows qualifying customers to get a new phone with an initial down payment and make monthly payments on the phone for 20 months with no interest charges. For example, if you purchased a new phone for $550 and put $150 down, you pay $20/month for 20 months, plus the low monthly cost of your Value Plan. Value Plan pricing is only available at T-Mobile.

The following restrictions apply to all EIPs:

    • Non-Value plans, T‐Mobile Monthly4G prepaid plans and certain business accounts are not eligible for EIPs.
    • Customers in Washington, DC and Puerto Rico are not eligible for EIPs.
    • The minimum required purchase for an EIP is $19.99.
    • Due to state regulations, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, West Virginia and Wyoming do not allow purchases on a 24‐month EIP.
    • If you leave T-Mobile you’re still obligated to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

Learn more about our Equipment Installment Plan

Depending on which rate plan you choose, you may also be charged an add a line fee; see rate plan for details. Taxes and shipping will also be applied to your order total.

Whether you choose to pay for your device up front today, or pay over time, you can upgrade your device at any time. If your current device has not yet been paid off, you will need to continue to make payments on the existing balance. For the well-qualified buyer, pay over time pricing will spread interest-free payments over 24 months. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

You need a credit check for a couple of reasons. First, if you are applying for an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) it’s standard practice for us to check your credit. If you want to keep your existing phone number we need to determine if it’s eligible to be transferred.

Just like all other wireless carriers, T-Mobile has to charge enough to cover the cost of the phone. The difference is that T-Mobile separates the cost of the phone from the cost of the service. That means T-Mobile customers finish paying for their phone as soon the actual cost is paid off—and their monthly bill automatically drops.
