Which plans qualify for roaming in 210+ countries and destinations, and how do I sign up?
The Magenta® for Business, Simple Choice, New Classic, and Select Choice plans provide unlimited 2G data, unlimited texting, and calling at $0.20 per minute in 210+ countries and destinations. The T-Mobile Essentials plan provides unlimited texting and calling at $0.20 per minute (but not data) in 210+ countries and destinations. Log in to My T-Mobile to confirm that you have one of these plans. If you do, there’s no need to add a separate feature or call Business Care before traveling. International roaming is included in qualifying plans at no extra charge.
With Magenta for Business, will I get the same high-speed network experience internationally as I do here at home in the U.S.?
When you travel to Mexico and Canada, you get unlimited calling, texting, and data with up to 5GB at 4G LTE speeds. Plus, you get unlimited calling to Mexico and Canada from the U.S. for FREE.
When you travel abroad in 210+ countries and destinations, you’ll have unlimited data at up to 128Kbps, which is great for web browsing, e-mail, social media, and occasional use of certain features like GPS/maps. Some applications like streaming music or video typically require higher-speed data for optimal functionality. If you frequently travel internationally and require a higher speed, you can add Magenta® Plus for Business and get up to 256Kbps speeds abroad for $15/month.
Are there international benefits with Magenta Plus for Business?
Yes. Magenta Plus for Business customers get unlimited data at twice the speed of Magenta for Business plans (up to 256 kbps) in addition to receiving unlimited text and calling at $0.20 per minute in 210+ countries and destinations.
How do I get faster data speeds when traveling abroad?
T-Mobile customers with qualifying plans (including Magenta for Business, Essentials, and Simple Choice) can add a day pass for $5/day to receive a high-speed data experience. While roaming in 210+ countries and destinations, these passes allow you 512MB of data at up to 4G LTE speeds and unlimited calling for 24 hours.
Can I buy international passes ahead of time?
Yes. You may purchase up to two international passes ahead of time.
Can I add more than 512MB of LTE per day when roaming?
Yes. You may purchase up to two international passes per rolling 24-hour period. However, if you use up all your data in less than 24 hours and choose to activate a second pass, your unlimited talk benefits will also reset to expire with the second pass.
What happens when I use all my data on the international pass?
Your unlimited calling is still available until the period ends and you will resume using the roaming speeds based on your current plan. Essentials customers will receive 2G roaming data speeds for the remainder of their pass. We’ll also send a text notification with the option to buy additional day passes.
Do ALL plans include global coverage?
No. Pay-in-advance plans and No Credit Check plans are excluded because a credit check is required to access this added benefit.
How do I receive and make calls when roaming internationally, like contacting T-Mobile for Business customer support?
To make a call while you’re roaming overseas, whether you’re calling within the country or to a location outside it, simply dial "+" and the country code, the city code (if necessary), and the local number. If you want to reach T-Mobile for Business customer support, dial the plus sign (+) followed by 1-505-998-3793 from your mobile phone. From a landline, dial the international direct dialing prefix for the country you’re in followed by 1-505-998-3793. T-Mobile will not charge you for the call to customer support, but long-distance fees may apply if you call from a landline.
If I travel outside the 210+ countries and destinations, will my device have global coverage?
Customers must have a device with a compatible frequency for the country they are traveling to for their device to function. Most recent smartphones are quad-band and support frequencies in almost any country. To confirm your device’s compatibility, in your destination, check your coverage here. You’ll need to enter the country to which you are traveling and your device model to see if your device is compatible with the frequency in that country.
Customers should also note traveling to a country outside our 210+ countries and destinations will incur text charges at $0.50 per text. You’ll have the option to use Wi-Fi only for data purposes. Voice and data charges vary by country. You can check specific country rates by entering the country you are traveling here.
What if I have a qualifying Magenta for Business or Simple Choice plan, but I don’t want the international roaming capability?
You may call 611 from your T-Mobile device to block or unblock this feature on your account. Please note that only primary account holders may remove the block. Also, Wi-Fi usage will not be blocked and calls and texts over Wi-Fi may incur additional charges depending on where you’re calling or texting.
