T-Mobile Live Translation helps people talk naturally across different languages during phone calls. There’s no app to download or set up—it works right on the T-Mobile network, on the phone you already use. Conversations are translated in real time, so both people can speak comfortably in their preferred language.

Once Live Translation is turned on during a call, it listens and translates as you speak, helping each person hear the conversation in their preferred language. It all happens quickly and seamlessly, so the conversation keeps flowing.

Live Translation is for anyone who wants conversations to feel easier across languages—including people who speak limited English, families and friends who speak different languages, travelers, and small business owners connecting with multilingual customers.

Most translation tools require apps, logins, or special devices. Live Translation is built into the T-Mobile network, so it works directly during your phone calls—no switching apps, no extra steps, and no new accounts. It’s designed to feel simple, natural, and easy to use.

The service works on any T-Mobile phone connected to 4G LTE or 5G without needing an app or software update. Only one phone connected to the call has to be on the T-Mobile network for translation to work.

Live Translation works anywhere you have T‑Mobile 4G or 5G voice coverage, including international roaming in 100+ countries where 4G or 5G coverage is available

The initial Beta will only be available for T-Mobile members.

While you are waiting, we will provide regular updates. If you are admitted to the Beta, you’ll receive a notification with all the details and next steps.

We’ll notify you before the Beta period ends. At that time, you’ll have the option to add Live Translation to your line when the feature officially launches.
