Learn how to activate your Prepaid phone/device

1. How do I activate my phone/device online?

Simply go to www.t-mobile.com/PrepaidActivation and follow the step-by-step instructions.

2. What information will I need to activate my phone/device?

To activate online, you will need to enter information from the following items included in your box:

• Activation card—activation code, needed to complete your activation
• SIM card—SIM card serial number
• Phone/device—IMEI number on the back of your phone or device

3. Where do I find my activation code?

You can find your 11-12 digit activation code on the activation card provided with your T-Mobile Prepaid kit. This code is necessary to activate your T-Mobile Prepaid device online.
IMPORTANT EXCEPTION: Activation codes are not used to activate Prepaid Mobile Broadband accounts. IMEI and SIM card numbers are required for these activations.

4. What happens if I can’t find my activation card/code?

If you’ve lost or misplaced your activation card, call our activations line for assistance at 1-877-778-2107.

5. If I am switching from another company can I keep my phone number?

Yes, as long as it’s eligible, you can keep your number with your new Prepaid phone/device. You can check your number eligibility before you activate. Once eligibility has been confirmed, activate your existing number by calling 1-800-937-8997. Make sure you have your activation code, SIM, and IMEI numbers available, to help complete the activation process.

6. When do I select my rate plan?

You will be able to select a rate plan when you activate your phone/device online.

7. How long does it take to activate my service?

It can take up to 2 hours for your account to be fully active. You will receive a text message on your Prepaid device to confirm when it’s ready to use.
