I recently purchased the T-Mobile Rocket 4G Mobile Broadband.... And it was GREAT! All you have to do is plug it into your computer and your on 4G speeds! Perfect in the Car.... Okay for videos..... And Works on my Acer Labtop and Tablet! Really easy to use and work.... I Love this broadband device! Better than At&t broadband services!

Great service, extremely inexpensive
I previously used a tethering app on my Verizon work phone for the occasional laptop use (even for personal stuff like watching YouTube videos, etc.). It was adequate but this thing is faster than my DSL at home. The $35/2 month package is cheaper than my DSL at home too.
Installation was simple and would have been easier if I had ignored the directions. It mentioned having to install the SIM but it was already in there. I plugged it in, a disk drive mounted, I ran the installer and I was online.
The T-Mobile website is a little clunky. After registration, it should take you to the Manage page since the first thing you need to do is add funds and a package.

Very Surprising Speeds!
I bought this at Wal-Mart and decided to just buy the 1.5GB for $25 to test the network out around my area. Before buying the T-Mobile 4G Rocket, I was using a previous 3G pre-paid broadband service for my internet needs. It served them adequately enough--I could normally watch youtube videos at about 360p with little buffering at times (forget 480p, though) and even played some video games using the service (mostly first-person-shooters). I was getting speeds of about .64 Mbps and uploads of around the same with a ping of an average of 170 in my area. Since using T-Mobile's 4G, there is a MASSIVE difference in speeds! I'm averaging about 8.60 Mbps on the downloads and 1.50 Mbps on the uploads with about 94 on the ping average. I can now stream youtube videos at 1080p without buffering! I'm just blown away by just how much faster it is. I'm honestly genuinely surprised. Keep in mind this all on HSPA, and not HSPA+ since they don't offer it in my area yet.
I thought my old network was decent enough to play online gaming. I was entirely wrong. Playing FPS games online using 4G is such a massive difference. Before I always felt like I was getting shot out of nowwhere, but now I survive matches without dying for a much longer time (not to mention my kill ration has gone up). There was so much lag I never noticed on 3G that it seriously hampered my online gaming experiences without even fully realizing it. I actually feel I have a fair chance now while gaming with people on a landline (since their ping times and general speeds are usually faster). Is there still lag? Yes, but it's absolutely playable.
To be fair, I've only had this product for one day. First impression are very favorable, but they could change a month or two later. It's realistic to expect poor performance at times, but from what I've experienced the speeds are leaps and bounds better than my old service.
The only drawback is the fact my old service did offer you better pre-paid monthly plans. I've gone well over my limit on my old 3G service and they hadn't cut the speeds too bad when you went over...provided as long as you just don't start doing heavy downloading. I'm worried that as soon as I reach over my limit I'll be severely cut back on speeds. I'm not sure how fast EDGE is (I think it might be slightly faster than dial-up), but that's what T-Mobile cuts you back to. Whether or not that is still serviceable remains to be seen.
All in all, my experience is very positive with the T Mobile 4G Rocket. Should things go awry, I'll update this review to reflect my longer term experiences. But the bottom line is that T-Mobile 4G is pretty darn fast, and that it is much MUCH better than the speeds my old 3G provider offers (but again, they do offer better plans). Others have said that they had problems with their modem, but I hope I'll continue to have positive experiences for the rest of the time I use T-Mobile 4G! *crosses fingers*
