Family Wireless 101

No matter how you like to connect, T-Mobile provides a variety of services to suit your needs. Not all services are available for every plan. To see available services for a specific plan, first choose a plan.

With Family Allowances, you can help your whole crew use their phones responsibly. By setting upfront limits for minutes, messages, and downloads, you can avoid unexpected overage charges on your bill.

Family Allowances keeps you connected—and in control
With Family AllowancesSM, you can help your whole crew use their phones responsibly. By setting upfront limits for minutes, messages, and downloads, you could avoid unexpected overage charges on your bill. Family members learn to “budget” their phone use, everyone stays connected, and you get some well-deserved peace of mind.

Flexible, fast, and easy. Really.
It’s easy to set Family Allowances. You determine how many minutes, messages, and downloads each person gets. If a family member reaches an allowance, you’ll be automatically notified (enrollment required for notification) and their service will temporarily be disabled (but don’t worry—with Always AllowedSM numbers, you can still get in touch). If you want to allow someone to use more minutes, you can change allowances at any time—right from the Web.

Relax—Family Allowances is looking out for your family
With Family Allowances, you can make sure no one’s texting all night and even set devices so they won’t ring during certain hours of the day. You can block unwanted callers with Never AllowedSM numbers. And with Always Allowed numbers, family members can still get in touch, even if allowances are spent.

Qualifying postpaid, multi-line plan required. Calls and messages sent or received while roaming on another carrier’s network, and not on the T-Mobile USA network (“roaming”), may not count towards allowance limits. Even if a number is on your Never Allowed list or otherwise blocked, you may still be able to send and receive calls and messages to and from that number while roaming. Your Never Allowed list may not include international numbers. Always Allowed numbers must be domestic ten-digit phone numbers; toll-free T-Mobile numbers are excluded. Setting allowances may impact your ability to use services. We can't guarantee that any call, including those to & from 911 emergency service providers, will connect or be uninterrupted. Family Allowances is for domestic use only and will not work while roaming internationally
