Rated 1 out of 5 by THIS IS THE WORST PHONE I'D EVER PURCHASE I would not recommend this product NOT even to my enemies! This is the worst phone ever! After this I am going to stop using SAMSUNG product, this phone should be thrown in the dumpsters, because it is garbage. NO GOOD! Don't buy this phone, if someone is giving you free this phone for free, it is setup they want your life to be stressful, refuse it! October 9, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Why did I switch to Android? I have owned this phone for about 6 months and I have never disliked a phone so much that it made me type up a review. Cons: Charging Port, Application Crashes, TouchScreen, Camera and bluetooth. Pros: Battery Life(Ultra Savings Mode) The port to charge this phone is quite the pain in the butt. Impossible to do in the dark and difficult with good lighting. I though applications crashing on the phone could be fixed by factory resetting the phone but that wasn't the case. I have a strong feeling this is a common occurrence with this phone. The touch screen on this phone is very glitchy and on several occasions has opened apps in my pocket and made purchases. Led me to set a security lock on it and I used the fingerprint scanner which almost never works on the first try. Very frustrating. Even more frustrating when you do unlock the phone but the screen can't even recognize that's being touched. Leads to locking the phone again and trying to to use the useless fingerprint scanner just to get it working again. Yes I have contemplated breaking the phone and buying a new one but it's a company phone.. I'm sure everyone loves taking pictures on their camera. I would take more pictures but every time I do I have to take about five different ones because 4 out of 5 end up being blurry, pixelated or both. I have a newer car with the ability to sync up a cell phone via Bluetooth. This feature works really well but this phone always disconnects randomly and sometimes will be put in a loop where it disconnects and reconnects. The issue wan't my car either because my wife's phone seems to work flawlessly and yes she has an Iphone. Overall I have wasted a lot of time and effort on this frustrating device. October 1, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Done with Android/Samsung!! This has been the most problematic phone I've ever had! Let me explain why... when I first bought this phone back in late December 2014, it worked flawlessly! No problems, super fast and loved it, battery life was not the best but definitely not the worst. But then a horrible update called lollipop came in and completely ruined this phone. Super sluggish, laggy to the point you want to throw it across the room and battery life. Boy did that go downhill. Used to get 12-15 hours battery life but after the update, I'm lucky if I get 7 or 8.. I factory reset it 3 TIMES! and no improvement. Then 5.1 lollipop came and made it to a nightmare! I didn't even want to waste my time trying to get a replacement because I read online that it was the same problem with all the had 5.0 lollipop and up. I've own s3, s4, and s5.. they all have horrible lag and battery issues but this one... My God is the worst one ever! Its build quality is bad too.. the backcover squeaks like if it's broken and I even order a new backcover and still the same problem. I'm completely done with android and getting the iPhone 6s.. PLEASE! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONE AND JUST SAMSUNG IN GENERAL!! They are just too laggy and problematic for the money you will spend on.. go with iphone or another android. September 30, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by worst out the samsung S phones since i've purchased this phone i've been dissapointed,i lost my S3 and that the reason i bought the S5, this phone shuts off ,freezes, unable to answer calls ,im not even half way done paying for the phone and i know i need a new phone, sadly i bought it brand new September 28, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not good for skype.............. Samsung phones does everything else very well and they are very beautiful too, but talking on skype is a pain. Whenever I talk to my kids on an apple device even on an i touch, it is very clear voice and picture and at the same time samsung fails very badly. They must do something to fix that. We also have a note 4 and we have the same problem with that too. September 26, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Proceed with caution! Not as reliable as the S3 Previously, I had an S3 on another network. When I returned to Tmobile I decided to upgrade to the S5 because I loved my S3 so much I figured the S5 would be even better! I WAS WRONG. OH SO VERY WRONG! I am currently on my second phone in less than a year, but about to receive another replacement less than 2 months after my last one. That will be 3 phones in under a year. Not cool yall, not cool! I have issues with sending text messages- especially pictures, opening apps, and overall freezing (I call it the black screen of death). My phones have always been in a high quality case and have zero damage, yet they do not work properly. If you only want to have a high tech phone for look go ahead... If you want a functional phone look elsewhere September 20, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good Phone, But Glitches My family bought this phone thinking it would function w/ WiFi calling in cellular dead spots - but we were mistaken. Often incoming calls on WiFi would go directly to voicemail, and outgoing calls would be dropped entirely. There are other quirks with the phone like the deletion of Direct Dial shortcuts off the home page from time to time. Maybe T-Mobile/Samsung can work to squish these glitches, but at the time of this review they are significant. While the hardware has great waterproofing features, I cannot recommend the phone with all these quirks. September 16, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by wouldn't recommend it to my dog I went from a LG OPTIMUS L90 to this s5 and its the biggest junk ever. Constantly freezes, reboots, won't let you answer calls September 14, 2015

To upgrade early, you’ll need to pay off your entire Equipment Installment Plan. You can do this by calling Customer Care or visiting a T-Mobile retail store.

Yes. You once your phone is paid off, it’s paid off. From that point on you will only pay be billed for the T-Mobile rate plan, and services, or features you’ve chosen.

When your new phone arrives simply follow the manufacturer’s set-up procedure and start using it. If you purchased a new T-Mobile SIM card to use in your own device, you will need to insert the new card and then you are good to go.

You can upgrade your phone at any time. If you have an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) you’ll need to pay that off first, then you’re free to select a new phone. It’s as easy as that. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

To find out if you’re eligible for a rebate or a promotion all you need to do is answer a few simple questions.

    Get started

Other carriers recover the cost of the phone with higher recurring monthly rate plan charges. Their customers continue to pay higher monthly rates even after the phone is paid off. Only T-Mobile offers a plan that automatically lowers the cost of the monthly bill when the phone is paid off.

We offer free, overnight shipping on certain new phones and devices. Otherwise, we will send your purchase using standard 2-4 business days shipping. Look for special promotions where all phones and devices include free, overnight shipping.

No. When you group phones into a family plan when purchasing on, you must either pay for all of them up front, or over time.

No. If you choose to pay over time, your payments will be interest-free.

You must purchase insurance within the first 14 days of buying a new device. To learn more about Premium Handset Protection Insurance or to learn about our other bundled features simply follow the link.

Learn more about Premium Handset Protection

If you cancel your service, you still need to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

Unlike other carriers that give you a discounted rate on the phone up front and then bury the costs in your monthly bill, we charge you the full retail price. In order to make payments more manageable, qualifying new and current customers can take advantage of our Equipment Installment Plan (EIP).

    Here's how phone payments work:

EIP (Equipment Installment Plan) pricing allows qualifying customers to get a new phone with an initial down payment and make monthly payments on the phone for 20 months with no interest charges. For example, if you purchased a new phone for $550 and put $150 down, you pay $20/month for 20 months, plus the low monthly cost of your Value Plan. Value Plan pricing is only available at T-Mobile.

The following restrictions apply to all EIPs:

    • Non-Value plans, T‐Mobile Monthly4G prepaid plans and certain business accounts are not eligible for EIPs.
    • Customers in Washington, DC and Puerto Rico are not eligible for EIPs.
    • The minimum required purchase for an EIP is $19.99.
    • Due to state regulations, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, West Virginia and Wyoming do not allow purchases on a 24‐month EIP.
    • If you leave T-Mobile you’re still obligated to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

Learn more about our Equipment Installment Plan

Depending on which rate plan you choose, you may also be charged an add a line fee; see rate plan for details. Taxes and shipping will also be applied to your order total.

Whether you choose to pay for your device up front today, or pay over time, you can upgrade your device at any time. If your current device has not yet been paid off, you will need to continue to make payments on the existing balance. For the well-qualified buyer, pay over time pricing will spread interest-free payments over 24 months. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

You need a credit check for a couple of reasons. First, if you are applying for an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) it’s standard practice for us to check your credit. If you want to keep your existing phone number we need to determine if it’s eligible to be transferred.

Just like all other wireless carriers, T-Mobile has to charge enough to cover the cost of the phone. The difference is that T-Mobile separates the cost of the phone from the cost of the service. That means T-Mobile customers finish paying for their phone as soon the actual cost is paid off—and their monthly bill automatically drops.
