Rated 1 out of 5 by I got a bad one This is my fourth Samsung Phone, my first S4 and I'm extremely disappointed with ot. Sometimes the screen stays black and I cannot disconnect a call. My texts messages stopped indicating who sent the message and just recently I will lose sound in the middle of a call, sometimes I have to take the battery out to fix it. I've had mostly good experiences with Samsung, I just got a bad phone. November 18, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Very Slow Well, i got this phone in February of 2014... I'm a big tech geek... I have always had Samsung phones and just continued the tradition. I thought this phone was great at first. Then it reached it memory capacity really fast. And with this update, my phone lags, REALLY bad... Sometimes it freezes and still lags. Gonna get the Note 4 and see how well that goes. November 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent phone All in all, I'm extremely pleased with the phone itself. I'm less pleased, of course, with the "bloatware" loaded onto it by T-Mobile, but I expected that going in. Most of them can be turned off, and that gets then out of your way. Some are necessary to the operation of Samsung's interface, so be careful with what you turn off. The display is gorgeous. I never liked watching movies on phones or even small tablets before, because of the poor image quality. Now, I watch movies quite often on my S4, and I'm very happy with the HD quality. Texts and web pages are quite legible. Battery life with the original battery was adequate, at best. I found it needing recharging several times a day, usually at a time when it was most inconvenient. So, I located a high-capacity battery that fir in the phone with no modifications required, and it improved the longevity markedly. Now I usually recharge a couple of times a day, and can plan ahead to when that will be done. The cameras are good. As usual, the front camera isn't as sharp as the back camera (or do I have that backwards? Oh, well, you know what I mean!) That's okay, though, as it's plenty good enough for video chats. The back camera is very good for snapshots and videos, although you will notice some "smearing" in fast motion videos, particularly in less than open sunlight. Wifi coverage is good. I use the wifi around my house, and it changes seamlessly to 4G when I leave the house and go out of range of my wifi network. When I come home, it changes back to the wifi just as easily. Totally transparent and automatic, just as it should be, and it does the same for other wifi locations I have set as "trusted" (work, etc.) The Bluetooth is equally capable. I use it often with earphones and external speakers. The range is typical for Bluetooth; about 30 feet, depending on what's in between the units. That's okay, though, as it isn't supposed to be long-range. Call connectivity is good, as long as you're in an area with decent coverage. That depends, of course, more on T-Mobile's coverage, than anything else, but the phone performs quite well, even in areas of 1 or 2 bars. I rarely have dropped calls in decent coverage areas. Data over the Internet, i.e., email, downloads/uploads, and so forth, is good. If you're in an area with 4G LTE coverage, it's nearly as good as a home wifi network. In a 3G area, of course, it's considerably slower, and if all you can get is 2G - well, go get a cup of coffee. It'll take a while! That's not the phone's fault, of course. I could go on, but this is long enough. I like this phone a lot, and, as long as they keep upgrading it with newer versions of Android as they come out, I'll probably keep it. If it's still available, I recommend you give it a look. November 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for Playing MP3s I really like my Galaxy S 4. One of my favorite things to do with it is wirelessly stream MP3s over Bluetooth. I have a Bluetooth boom box that I use as an amplifier. To prevent interruptions while playing the music, I enable "Blocking Mode" on the phone. October 24, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Updates are HORRIBLE Will not recommend only because of the new updates! I bought my galaxy 4 last year and absolutely loved it until last month when the T-Mobile updates appeared not once but twice on my phone. The updates are just horrible it is actually a downgrade. So many things have changed for the worse. Camera not so great anymore that's a big problem for me and also the battery life does not last as long anymore, and I'm sure its because of all the unnecessary apps that where loaded during the updates...Totally ridiculous! Unhappy Customer! October 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing It is everything you want it to be. All of the specs are perfectly proportioned, allowing you to do anything seamlessly. Also, the screen is fantastic; it is better than any TV. I trulynlove this phone October 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by AMAZING PHONE! The pictures come out with amazing quality . Had have it since March 2013 ! Highly recommend it. October 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Disappointed I LOVED my phone until yesterday when a new software update came out, now it is a mess. I've had the phone since February 2014 and no issues. Now that the update has come out I am having all kinds of connection issues, unless I am hooked to wifi, I can't use the internet, maps, Facebook, NOTHING! I am so angry especially since I paid so much for the phone. I even did a factory reset and still same issues, NOT GOOD!! I would have recommended this phone to everyone, but now with the update no way! I have not had issues with volume or the charging port. October 15, 2014

Yes. You once your phone is paid off, it’s paid off. From that point on you will only pay be billed for the T-Mobile rate plan, and services, or features you’ve chosen.

When your new phone arrives simply follow the manufacturer’s set-up procedure and start using it. If you purchased a new T-Mobile SIM card to use in your own device, you will need to insert the new card and then you are good to go.

You can upgrade your phone at any time. If you have an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) you’ll need to pay that off first, then you’re free to select a new phone. It’s as easy as that. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

To find out if you’re eligible for a rebate or a promotion all you need to do is answer a few simple questions.

Other carriers recover the cost of the phone with higher recurring monthly rate plan charges. Their customers continue to pay higher monthly rates even after the phone is paid off. Only T-Mobile offers a plan that automatically lowers the cost of the monthly bill when the phone is paid off.

We offer free, overnight shipping on certain new phones and devices. Otherwise, we will send your purchase using standard 2-4 business days shipping. Look for special promotions where all phones and devices include free, overnight shipping.

No. When you group phones into a family plan when purchasing on T-Mobile.com, you must either pay for all of them up front, or over time.

No. If you choose to pay over time, your payments will be interest-free.

You must purchase insurance within the first 14 days of buying a new device. To learn more about Premium Handset Protection Insurance or to learn about our other bundled features simply follow the link.

If you cancel your service, you still need to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

Unlike other carriers that give you a discounted rate on the phone up front and then bury the costs in your monthly bill, we charge you the full retail price. In order to make payments more manageable, qualifying new and current customers can take advantage of our Equipment Installment Plan (EIP).

    Here's how phone payments work:

EIP (Equipment Installment Plan) pricing allows qualifying customers to get a new phone with an initial down payment and make monthly payments on the phone for 20 months with no interest charges. For example, if you purchased a new phone for $550 and put $150 down, you pay $20/month for 20 months, plus the low monthly cost of your Value Plan. Value Plan pricing is only available at T-Mobile.

The following restrictions apply to all EIPs:

    • Non-Value plans, T‐Mobile Monthly4G prepaid plans and certain business accounts are not eligible for EIPs.
    • Customers in Washington, DC and Puerto Rico are not eligible for EIPs.
    • The minimum required purchase for an EIP is $19.99.
    • Due to state regulations, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, West Virginia and Wyoming do not allow purchases on a 24‐month EIP.
    • If you leave T-Mobile you’re still obligated to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

Learn more about our Equipment Installment Plan

Depending on which rate plan you choose, you may also be charged an add a line fee; see rate plan for details. Taxes and shipping will also be applied to your order total.

Whether you choose to pay for your device up front today, or pay over time, you can upgrade your device at any time. If your current device has not yet been paid off, you will need to continue to make payments on the existing balance. For the well-qualified buyer, pay over time pricing will spread interest-free payments over 24 months. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

You need a credit check for a couple of reasons. First, if you are applying for an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) it’s standard practice for us to check your credit. If you want to keep your existing phone number we need to determine if it’s eligible to be transferred.

Just like all other wireless carriers, T-Mobile has to charge enough to cover the cost of the phone. The difference is that T-Mobile separates the cost of the phone from the cost of the service. That means T-Mobile customers finish paying for their phone as soon the actual cost is paid off—and their monthly bill automatically drops.
