    Rated 5 out of 5 by (typos may ensue, I did not feel like proofreading) I've used iPhones (3 and 4) and used Androids (LG Nexus and Samsung Note 3). I have to say, Androids beats iPhone hands down. Don't get me wrong if you use and enjoy the iPhone then you should stick with it, iPhones are very user friendly and have a basic interface that hooks into iTunes and it easy to manage. I have had better experiences with Androids though. When I was first using the iPhone three the OS crashed and I had to go get it wiped then reinstalled (which should take and hour maybe two), but it took about five hours and I lost all my pictures/data. The iPhone 4 was fairly faultless in my experience, it ran really well! But then I got the LG Nexus which not only had a larger display, but had a 8 megapixel camera, the basic phone automatically came with enough memory for all my photos and a ton of music and all my apps, and a quad-core processor which made it crazy fast and ten times better than any iPhone I had ever used. Now the drawback to the Nexus was that the screen will probably never break, but if it does the screen doesn't respond, iPhones are superior in that respect (though man, how great would it be if iPhones could finally have a screen that doesn't break when you look at it the wrong way). After that I switched to the Samsung Note 3. It is, hands down, the greatest phone I have ever used and I will use Samsung phones for the rest of my life. My phone got left on top of the car, and then flown off the car the first corner we took. I found it, an hour later, in a puddle, THE SCREEN WAS INTACT. But it wouldn't have mattered if the screen had broken, because I know from a friend with a cracked Samsung Galaxy 3, that they still function with a broken screen. I did replace it after that because, wouldn't you know, throwing your phone off a moving car does cause some minor glitches. Samsung replaced it overnight with a new phone for only 5 dollars. It has a 13 mega pixel camera that takes amazing photos, it runs quickly, and backs up everything to Google so you'll never lose contacts or photos again. I'm trilingual so the ability to quickly change from one language keyboard to the next was a HUGE plus. The speakers on the phone are also remarkably good for preinstalled hardware, I like to listen to music/videos on them. Plus Samsung has an app called Samsung SmartSwitch, that you can use to transfer all your files/settings/WIFI PASSWORDS from one Samsung phone to another. I guess which phones works best for you is really subjective, but I'm Samsung for life now. I attached a photo I took with my phone (the framing app lowered the quality of the photo but you can see that it's a great camera). September 20, 2014

Just tell us the make, model and condition of your old phone and we’ll give you a quote for your trade-in value.     Refurbished phones offered by T-Mobile have been inspected and tested to ensure they’re in good working order, and they all come with a limited 90-day warranty. They also come with the same return policy as our new devices: 20 days from the date of your order.

    Unlike other carriers that give you a discounted rate on the phone up front and then bury the costs in your monthly bill, we charge you the full retail price. In order to make payments more manageable, qualifying new and current customers can take advantage of our Equipment Installment Plan (EIP).

    Here's how phone payments work:

    EIP (Equipment Installment Plan) pricing allows qualifying customers to get a new phone with an initial down payment and make monthly payments on the phone for 20 months with no interest charges. For example, if you purchased a new phone for $550 and put $150 down, you pay $20/month for 20 months, plus the low monthly cost of your Value Plan. Value Plan pricing is only available at T-Mobile.

    The following restrictions apply to all EIPs:

    • Non-Value plans, T‐Mobile Monthly4G prepaid plans and certain business accounts are not eligible for EIPs.
    • Customers in Washington, DC and Puerto Rico are not eligible for EIPs.
    • The minimum required purchase for an EIP is $19.99.
    • Due to state regulations, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, West Virginia and Wyoming do not allow purchases on a 24‐month EIP.
    • If you leave T-Mobile you’re still obligated to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

    Depending on which rate plan you choose, you may also be charged an add a line fee; see rate plan for details. Taxes and shipping will also be applied to your order total.

    Whether you choose to pay for your device up front today, or pay over time, you can upgrade your device at any time. If your current device has not yet been paid off, you will need to continue to make payments on the existing balance. For the well-qualified buyer, pay over time pricing will spread interest-free payments over 24 months. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

    You need a credit check for a couple of reasons. First, if you are applying for an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) it’s standard practice for us to check your credit. If you want to keep your existing phone number we need to determine if it’s eligible to be transferred.

    Just like all other wireless carriers, T-Mobile has to charge enough to cover the cost of the phone. The difference is that T-Mobile separates the cost of the phone from the cost of the service. That means T-Mobile customers finish paying for their phone as soon the actual cost is paid off—and their monthly bill automatically drops.
