Rated 5 out of 5 by I love my galaxy avant Great phone. Good memory. Everything works like a dream. I think my next phone will be the note 3 because I would like a bigger screen. October 26, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Exceptional entry-level device. An affordable Samsung Galaxy with 4.5" screen size, LTE, NFC, 16GB Internal Memory with latest Android KitKat? Count me in! I bought this to replace the not-so-great LG Optimus L90 and the difference is NIGHT and DAY! First off, this is a much solid built device, and it feels good in your hands. Its 5MP camera is also surprisingly good. It is in leaps and bounds compared to the L90 (also 5MP). Though both have qHD screen resolutions but for some reason the Samsung Galaxy Avant renders much richer colors - just 'pops' out more. No problems with calls or texting either. Both ends are crystal-clear with or w/o WiFi-Calling, volume levels are loud sufficient and 'picture' texts messaging (or mms) did not failed miserably compared to the LG L90 - which prompted me to replaced over this fabulous device. Data connection is blazing fast thanks to LTE capability and wifi internet hand-off is smooth and quick, and above all, the device is smooth sailing with absolutely zero lag. This would of been a 5-star item if it weren't for the absent of ambient light sensor which automatically measures screen brightness switching. A small issue which in no way outweighs other features and functions of the device. Well worth the money spent. October 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Grate Phone I had the galaxy light, and this its an upgrade to that with android 4.4 kitkat on board. Great entry phone into a smart phone arena. October 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it!!! I chose to get this instead tablet, very pleased with the choice, only thing I don't like is there are. too MANY pre-installed apps that I have no use for. Other than that I love it!!!! Also, love the front camera, NO MORE MIRROR SELFIES! October 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great phone for a great price! I've had this phone for about a month now and really like it. Now, I'm not a super user - I don't use data or GPS, but for calls and texting this phone has been great! I switch it to wireless at the house and have downloaded a couple of apps and it syncs with my google account just fine. Battery life - lasts about a week between charges. I haven't had any problems with it. (Bought a case w/ screen protector from somewhere else.) The camera could be a little better, but I don't take pictures with my phone - I use a real camera. Rated 4 out of 5 by this phone is better than what you pay for This is a great smartphone for those who don't care about being connected. I've refused to upgrade to a smartphone because I don't want to be strapped/connected to my phone constantly. I use this phone to text and make phone calls and on occasion look something up on the internet and send/check email. The GPS options and the available apps makes this phone and easier option then carrying multiple gadgets. As for the camera; it's fine. The timing between touching the screen and taking the picture could be improved to simply avoid screen movement, but the camera is pretty decent. If you want to take a better picture, buy a camera. It would be cheaper to buy a digital HD 16 megapixel camera and this phone than it would be to buy an Iphone 6 or the Samsung S5. As for texting; the touch screen qwerty format makes it hard for me because I'm used to the candy bar abc/123 system, so it's extremely difficult for me to text and drive: which you're not supposed to be doing anyway so that's good. Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent phone Ok so here's my review. This phone can handle pretty much anything you wanna do! My benchmark scores as followed... quadrant Standard 9080 and Antutu 19222... those are good scores for that phone and the price! Everyday use, my battery can make it through the day. You have volte/HD voice while on phone! All of the latest "bands for lte. Running 4.4.2 the screen is great. If I wanna go balls out watching a movie from my phone, I stream it to my Samsung 4k tv. I don't have any lag with it at all.i was very surprised that this phone at the price is more than enough for everyday use.it also has power save mode and ultra power save mode like on the S5.cant beat that! my wishes for changes on this phone... auto brightness is not on it, camera is sub par/par October 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sweet unit, if you can live with its shortcomings Some moment of insanity struck me when I went from Android back to iPhone... came to my senses... and was torn between Galaxy s4 and Avant. The Avant is basically a cheaper smaller version of s5. I ended up with Avant because (1) much cheaper (2) Android 4.4 (s4 has 4.2) (3) they didn't have any black s4 in store. So far am rather loving it. No the camera isn't as good, nor the screen, not as many good cases for it yet (relatively new model), am concerned how quickly battery seems to drain. But the OS is great, does what I want, way more control than with an iPhone, good call quality, decent (not good) speaker. Wish I could somehow get rid of My Magazine/Flip. Internal microSD expansion? Aw yeah. October 16, 2014

Yes. You once your phone is paid off, it’s paid off. From that point on you will only pay be billed for the T-Mobile rate plan, and services, or features you’ve chosen.

When your new phone arrives simply follow the manufacturer’s set-up procedure and start using it. If you purchased a new T-Mobile SIM card to use in your own device, you will need to insert the new card and then you are good to go.

You can upgrade your phone at any time. If you have an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) you’ll need to pay that off first, then you’re free to select a new phone. It’s as easy as that. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

To find out if you’re eligible for a rebate or a promotion all you need to do is answer a few simple questions.

    Get started

Other carriers recover the cost of the phone with higher recurring monthly rate plan charges. Their customers continue to pay higher monthly rates even after the phone is paid off. Only T-Mobile offers a plan that automatically lowers the cost of the monthly bill when the phone is paid off.

We offer free, overnight shipping on certain new phones and devices. Otherwise, we will send your purchase using standard 2-4 business days shipping. Look for special promotions where all phones and devices include free, overnight shipping.

No. When you group phones into a family plan when purchasing on T-Mobile.com, you must either pay for all of them up front, or over time.

No. If you choose to pay over time, your payments will be interest-free.

You must purchase insurance within the first 14 days of buying a new device. To learn more about Premium Handset Protection Insurance or to learn about our other bundled features simply follow the link.

Learn more about Premium Handset Protection

If you cancel your service, you still need to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

Unlike other carriers that give you a discounted rate on the phone up front and then bury the costs in your monthly bill, we charge you the full retail price. In order to make payments more manageable, qualifying new and current customers can take advantage of our Equipment Installment Plan (EIP).

    Here's how phone payments work:

EIP (Equipment Installment Plan) pricing allows qualifying customers to get a new phone with an initial down payment and make monthly payments on the phone for 20 months with no interest charges. For example, if you purchased a new phone for $550 and put $150 down, you pay $20/month for 20 months, plus the low monthly cost of your Value Plan. Value Plan pricing is only available at T-Mobile.

The following restrictions apply to all EIPs:

    • Non-Value plans, T‐Mobile Monthly4G prepaid plans and certain business accounts are not eligible for EIPs.
    • Customers in Washington, DC and Puerto Rico are not eligible for EIPs.
    • The minimum required purchase for an EIP is $19.99.
    • Due to state regulations, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, West Virginia and Wyoming do not allow purchases on a 24‐month EIP.
    • If you leave T-Mobile you’re still obligated to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

Learn more about our Equipment Installment Plan

Depending on which rate plan you choose, you may also be charged an add a line fee; see rate plan for details. Taxes and shipping will also be applied to your order total.

Whether you choose to pay for your device up front today, or pay over time, you can upgrade your device at any time. If your current device has not yet been paid off, you will need to continue to make payments on the existing balance. For the well-qualified buyer, pay over time pricing will spread interest-free payments over 24 months. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

You need a credit check for a couple of reasons. First, if you are applying for an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) it’s standard practice for us to check your credit. If you want to keep your existing phone number we need to determine if it’s eligible to be transferred.

Just like all other wireless carriers, T-Mobile has to charge enough to cover the cost of the phone. The difference is that T-Mobile separates the cost of the phone from the cost of the service. That means T-Mobile customers finish paying for their phone as soon the actual cost is paid off—and their monthly bill automatically drops.
