Rated 1 out of 5 by Unable to call or text until phone reboot This is by far the worst experience i've ever had with a mobile phone. This phone will randomly disconnect from cell towers until i reboot the phone. After it disconnects it still shows bars and i'm able to text through whatsapp, but unable to receive any sms texts or phone calls. This is my second time that i have missed a phone call from a potential employer and i'm ready to give this phone a paintful death. I'm 25 and got my first cell phone when i was 15, this is the worst experience i've ever had with a mobile phone. So disappointing. Its almost like it gets stuck in wifi calling but without any calling. October 24, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Phone Glitch This phone is terrible!!!! I wish I done my research before buying it! I bought it based on the commercials about Cortana. Bad mistake!!!!!!! If I had done my homework, I would not be stuck with such a terrible phone. It is constantly having errors and glitches, it will randomly stop receiving or letting me make phone calls, the texts just randomly stop working, it does not automatically switch from Wi-Fi to cellular when talking on the phone, it gives me my voicemails 3 days after the person left a message, and the apps are constantly glitching. The calls will drop if I leave a WI-FI area into the parking lot and will say sorry your out of the WI-FI area. My HTC phone never, ever, ever did this or had any of the above problems I've mentioned. I even have turn the phone on and off constantly to get it to work again. Ugh.....can't wait to get a new phone! October 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great phone, just be sure you do your research If you do not need a front "selfie" camera or a camera with flash then you should really look at this phone. The quality and voice call clarity is the best I have used. Nokia never disappoints in this area. The app store is pretty good in my opinion. I am not an app hound and only use the usual Facebook, hulu, Netflix, and the major news apps. The only games I play are flow free and temple run just to pass a few minutes while waiting for an appointment or the kiddo's. I have spent the last several years on Android and thought I was stuck with that ecosystem but....turns out Windows offers me better performance with ample free storage with OneDrive. The added bonus is FINALLY having a smart phone that can truly last all day without being tied to a wall, isn't that the point of a "wireless phone". Just do your own research about Windows OS before you make a decision. I spent several weeks reading and watching videos on YouTube before swithcing over. For me it has worked out without any headache and i find the OS to be snappy with no lag. If this phone had a flash for the camera (it does take excellent photos) it would be the perfect device. For what it is and what you get with this device it has far exceeded my expectations. October 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Windows phones are excellent phones I bought this phone for my mom, but I also have had many Lumia phones (starting back with WP 7.5), including 520, 920, 925, 928, 820, etc. I also have used iPhones and Android phones extensively. I bought this for my mom because it is so very easy to use and very clear about how to use it. Not only that, but you can set up the "tiles" to all be nice and big. She's going to town texting everyone (she's in her 80s) and I talk to her with excellent clarity, even for her without a hearing aid. I concur that it doesn't have every single app you might need if you are obsessed with apps, but all the basic stuff is there. My mom loves texting and the keyboard is awesome and the "autoword" or whatever it is called is really good. I would totally use an iPhone if it had a back button, and android is the wild west--wonderfully open and fresh and dangerous. I think Windows on the phone is most stable, most intuitive, and clean and wonderful. Just right. I highly recommend them, and highly recommend the Lumia phones--including this one. I will admit that the iPhone camera is better than this, but this is an amazing camera considering the price of the phone, which is nearly nothing. And I like the colors (you can buy different backs). I do wish it had the dedicated camera button, but you can't have everything at this price. And though the resolution isn't super hi-res, it is hardly noticeable. Well, I've rambled on enough but I do love these phones and would like more people to use them--they are an amazing bargain. Imagine finding a IOS or Android phone that has the LATEST OS installed at this price. Isn't going to happen. Enjoy. October 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by this phone has great features Brilliant little smartphone at a fantastic price great features Great screen won't part with it October 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great phone, amazing price All I can say that this is a perfect phone. Previously I had iPhone and 3 Andriod phones, I don't miss them at all. Cons: Excellent call quality, battery is as good as my previous Droid Maxx, OS features are great i.e. Windows 8 tiles, Micro SD card up to 128 GB, Quad Core processor. October 18, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Frustrated User The Nokia Lumia 635 worked brilliantly for 2 months. Now every now and again it won't sync my text messages correctly. It doesn't notify me of text messages and won't send any messages that I've sent. The problem is fixed by turning the phone on and off but you don't realise the issue is happening. I've looked in to this a bit with no answers but it appears to happen to many users. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE if you want to use SMS, which is an important aspect of a phone for me. This is my first smart phone and my 6 year old phone managed text and calls without problem. Really shouldn't have "upgraded" October 18, 2014

Yes. You once your phone is paid off, it’s paid off. From that point on you will only pay be billed for the T-Mobile rate plan, and services, or features you’ve chosen.

When your new phone arrives simply follow the manufacturer’s set-up procedure and start using it. If you purchased a new T-Mobile SIM card to use in your own device, you will need to insert the new card and then you are good to go.

You can upgrade your phone at any time. If you have an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) you’ll need to pay that off first, then you’re free to select a new phone. It’s as easy as that. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

To find out if you’re eligible for a rebate or a promotion all you need to do is answer a few simple questions.

Other carriers recover the cost of the phone with higher recurring monthly rate plan charges. Their customers continue to pay higher monthly rates even after the phone is paid off. Only T-Mobile offers a plan that automatically lowers the cost of the monthly bill when the phone is paid off.

We offer free, overnight shipping on certain new phones and devices. Otherwise, we will send your purchase using standard 2-4 business days shipping. Look for special promotions where all phones and devices include free, overnight shipping.

No. When you group phones into a family plan when purchasing on, you must either pay for all of them up front, or over time.

No. If you choose to pay over time, your payments will be interest-free.

You must purchase insurance within the first 14 days of buying a new device. To learn more about Premium Handset Protection Insurance or to learn about our other bundled features simply follow the link.

If you cancel your service, you still need to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

Unlike other carriers that give you a discounted rate on the phone up front and then bury the costs in your monthly bill, we charge you the full retail price. In order to make payments more manageable, qualifying new and current customers can take advantage of our Equipment Installment Plan (EIP).

    Here's how phone payments work:

EIP (Equipment Installment Plan) pricing allows qualifying customers to get a new phone with an initial down payment and make monthly payments on the phone for 20 months with no interest charges. For example, if you purchased a new phone for $550 and put $150 down, you pay $20/month for 20 months, plus the low monthly cost of your Value Plan. Value Plan pricing is only available at T-Mobile.

The following restrictions apply to all EIPs:

    • Non-Value plans, T‐Mobile Monthly4G prepaid plans and certain business accounts are not eligible for EIPs.
    • Customers in Washington, DC and Puerto Rico are not eligible for EIPs.
    • The minimum required purchase for an EIP is $19.99.
    • Due to state regulations, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, West Virginia and Wyoming do not allow purchases on a 24‐month EIP.
    • If you leave T-Mobile you’re still obligated to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

Learn more about our Equipment Installment Plan

Depending on which rate plan you choose, you may also be charged an add a line fee; see rate plan for details. Taxes and shipping will also be applied to your order total.

Whether you choose to pay for your device up front today, or pay over time, you can upgrade your device at any time. If your current device has not yet been paid off, you will need to continue to make payments on the existing balance. For the well-qualified buyer, pay over time pricing will spread interest-free payments over 24 months. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

You need a credit check for a couple of reasons. First, if you are applying for an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) it’s standard practice for us to check your credit. If you want to keep your existing phone number we need to determine if it’s eligible to be transferred.

Just like all other wireless carriers, T-Mobile has to charge enough to cover the cost of the phone. The difference is that T-Mobile separates the cost of the phone from the cost of the service. That means T-Mobile customers finish paying for their phone as soon the actual cost is paid off—and their monthly bill automatically drops.
