Rated 5 out of 5 by This is the greatest phone I have yet so far! Before the nokia lumia 635, I had the 521, and I am glad I made the upgrade because this one is more sleek and more integrated features. Despite the fact that it doesn't have a front face camera and an ambient sensor, it has other features like a notification center, and Cortana, which is like a replica of siri. July 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The sweet spot of smart phone choices! After many months of research, I chose the Nokia Lumia 635 phone and the T-Mobile service because I believe they both give the best options in the affordable smart phone market. This smart phone has everything I need and then some -- it seems very solid and reliable. My first Nokia lasted for seven years -- in fact, it was still working when I retired it years ago. I've been using a "dumb phone" since then -- and being a bargain guy, with no real need for a mobile smart phone because of my home computing options in exploring the Internet, I was using an inexpensive annual plan of 1000 minutes with another nation wide cellular service. But every year I would loose the paid minutes if I didn't use them -- and then I learned that T-Mobile has almost the same annual 1000 minutes plan that can include the option of saving paid minutes each year by buying new minutes before your annual deadline expires. Moreover, my older moble cell service annual plan would not let you use any smart phone choices -- they seemed to only make available the "dumb phone" choices for the annual plan. Well, the die was cast I went looking for a new smart phone -- and I almost chose the Nokia Lumia 521 untill I discovered the Nokia Lumia 635 with many new extras. I bought one from Microsoft and I am very pleased with it. Before deciding on the Microsoft/Nokia product, I looked at the Android phones -- and there are many nice ones, but decided on the Nokia Lumia 635 because of the new MS Windows 8.1 operating system and its many features onboard the reliable Nokia brand. My wife has had a Nexis 7 tablet for almost two years -- so I am familiar with Google's way of arranging applications on mobile devices. As far as choosing any Apple phones -- the usery cost was beyond my budget. Anyway, I had only two problems with my new Nokia smart phone I would like to address. One propblem was when I first turned it on from home using a Wi-Fi connection, it kept sending me the message "REG90" every 30 seconds. So, I called T-Moble for help using my land line, but learned that I could not use the Wi-Fi option for calling under the annual plan -- which apparently was causing the "REG90" messages. Then after discovering the option of turning off the "Wi-Fi Calling" in the Preferences section of the Wi-Fi calling icon option, the messages stopped. Because I have a land line and live in a mountain valley with no cell service, I only needed to use the phone for cellular service in town and or the road as a wireless mobile cell phone -- therefore, I didn't need to make cell phone calls from my home or any Wi-Fi networks. I may add that the "Wi-Fi Calling" option should not be confused with using the Wi-Fi network option of Internet browsing. So -- while that problem seemed solved, another one cropped up. The phone would not recognize the 16g microSDHC card after I put it in. After searching through many online blogs, it turns out that the problem was that I didn't insert the microSDHC card at the same time I placed the sim card I bought at the local T-Mobile store. In other words, make sure you follow instructions and install both cards during the setup -- because if you don't, you will have to reboot the phone to recognize the extra memory expansion option -- and all the custom changes you may have made since startup will be lost. The bottom line is that I recommend the Nokia Lumia 635 with the T-Mobile service as the best bargain out there in the ever changing market of mobile smart phones. July 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding Value This phone has an average camera, call quality, and battery life. The reason why it gets five stars is that it does everything that a good smart phone should do for an unbelievably. July 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best bang for your buck! Great phone! 512 MB RAM is ok on WP8 since the OS is smoother than Android! And yes it is an upgrade from the Lumia 521 because the 1.2 GHZ Quad core is very fast and impressive! Most games are fine on 512 MB! Windows 8.1 is very nice and the Nokia black screen really shows its colors. The live tiles are now cooler than ever on this phone. I will keep it until Tmobile finally releases a mid range Lumia with WP 8.1! July 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Window Phone I think the Nokia Lumia 635 phone is really good the battery last me for a week. I love it. July 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Budget Device This phone is not for the typical "spec-head". If you don't know what a Snapdragon 400 is, and if you don't really care either, you might like this phone. It has all the apps you'll need. Chances are you'll miss out on the newest stupid app fad that come out, but in three weeks when everyone else has stopped caring, so will you. This phone focuses on the basics, but nails each and every category Android Phones still sometimes mess up. It handles calls and texts perfectly well, with a cool, bulit-in swipe keyboard to boot. IE 11 is the best mobile browser, period. Cortana is simply awesome as a digital assistant. She has some great corny jokes, too. In short, if you're on a budget and value a smooth-running phone that won't let Google take over your life completely, this thing is for you. July 14, 2014

Yes. You once your phone is paid off, it’s paid off. From that point on you will only pay be billed for the T-Mobile rate plan, and services, or features you’ve chosen.

When your new phone arrives simply follow the manufacturer’s set-up procedure and start using it. If you purchased a new T-Mobile SIM card to use in your own device, you will need to insert the new card and then you are good to go.

You can upgrade your phone at any time. If you have an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) you’ll need to pay that off first, then you’re free to select a new phone. It’s as easy as that. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

To find out if you’re eligible for a rebate or a promotion all you need to do is answer a few simple questions.

Other carriers recover the cost of the phone with higher recurring monthly rate plan charges. Their customers continue to pay higher monthly rates even after the phone is paid off. Only T-Mobile offers a plan that automatically lowers the cost of the monthly bill when the phone is paid off.

We offer free, overnight shipping on certain new phones and devices. Otherwise, we will send your purchase using standard 2-4 business days shipping. Look for special promotions where all phones and devices include free, overnight shipping.

No. When you group phones into a family plan when purchasing on, you must either pay for all of them up front, or over time.

No. If you choose to pay over time, your payments will be interest-free.

You must purchase insurance within the first 14 days of buying a new device. To learn more about Premium Handset Protection Insurance or to learn about our other bundled features simply follow the link.

If you cancel your service, you still need to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

Refurbished phones offered by T-Mobile have been inspected and tested to ensure they’re in good working order, and they all come with a limited 90-day warranty. They also come with the same return policy as our new devices: 20 days from the date of your order.

Unlike other carriers that give you a discounted rate on the phone up front and then bury the costs in your monthly bill, we charge you the full retail price. In order to make payments more manageable, qualifying new and current customers can take advantage of our Equipment Installment Plan (EIP).

    Here's how phone payments work:

EIP (Equipment Installment Plan) pricing allows qualifying customers to get a new phone with an initial down payment and make monthly payments on the phone for 20 months with no interest charges. For example, if you purchased a new phone for $550 and put $150 down, you pay $20/month for 20 months, plus the low monthly cost of your Value Plan. Value Plan pricing is only available at T-Mobile.

The following restrictions apply to all EIPs:

    • Non-Value plans, T‐Mobile Monthly4G prepaid plans and certain business accounts are not eligible for EIPs.
    • Customers in Washington, DC and Puerto Rico are not eligible for EIPs.
    • The minimum required purchase for an EIP is $19.99.
    • Due to state regulations, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, West Virginia and Wyoming do not allow purchases on a 24‐month EIP.
    • If you leave T-Mobile you’re still obligated to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

Learn more about our Equipment Installment Plan

Depending on which rate plan you choose, you may also be charged an add a line fee; see rate plan for details. Taxes and shipping will also be applied to your order total.

Whether you choose to pay for your device up front today, or pay over time, you can upgrade your device at any time. If your current device has not yet been paid off, you will need to continue to make payments on the existing balance. For the well-qualified buyer, pay over time pricing will spread interest-free payments over 24 months. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

You need a credit check for a couple of reasons. First, if you are applying for an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) it’s standard practice for us to check your credit. If you want to keep your existing phone number we need to determine if it’s eligible to be transferred.

Just like all other wireless carriers, T-Mobile has to charge enough to cover the cost of the phone. The difference is that T-Mobile separates the cost of the phone from the cost of the service. That means T-Mobile customers finish paying for their phone as soon the actual cost is paid off—and their monthly bill automatically drops.
