Rated 1 out of 5 by worst phone I have ever had No one can hear me when I make a call and that's the most annoying part of this phone. I asked if this phone was in good service before I bought it, and now I can't even reach people to call... No internet connection hardly ever. This phone was an absolute waste of my money and I'm through my disappointed in the quality and product. August 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quite Simply, The Best. I'm a 43 year old guy who's been doing I.T. work for a living (for the last 20+ years) so I get to play with all of the new phones out there. Besides that, I am what you may call a 'phone nut'. I love them and the functionality they bring. I've had the LG G3, HTC One (M7), Nexus 4, Galaxy S3, HTC One X, LG G2x, HTC HD2 and of course, the Nexus 5. The Nexus 5 is as close to perfect that I've ever had. The number one feature that I like is the absence of so-called features. Meaning all of the unwanted junk software on other phones is not on the Nexus 5 (it wasn't on the Nexus 4 either but, the Nexus 4's hardware specs fall just too short). That doesn't mean it can't do it. For Example, the new LG G3 has pop-ups that keeps telling me how much exercise I've done today... Something like "You've walked 218 steps and burned 2 calories". Great! Now my phone is putting me down! If I want that I'd just download an app for it... The Nexus is faster than any phone I've used. Probably because there's no junk software running. Bottom line, I use it for work email (exchange), gmail, internet, remote desktop, music, movies & TV shows, Facebook & Google+, GPS navigation, and games. And it does them all flawlessly. One other feature I have grown to love is the built in wireless charging capability. I have a wireless charger on my desk so when I sit down, I just set the phone down on it. No wires to plug in or unplug. When I walk away, I simply pick it up! Since I got the wireless charging pad my phone is always charged. When I'm at home I plug it in before I go to bed (the Nexus is my alarm clock too!). I highly recommend this phone! August 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Battery needs to be better Yeah this phone has a nice camera. And yeah it's quick and easy to use. The only problem I have with this phone is that I can't use this phone for more than 8 minutes before it starts to feel hot. As a result the battery seems to be draining quite quickly. I have a case that I don't even use because of the fear of it getting even hotter. I restarted my phone and even with a minimum amount of apps I still have to keep my phone next to a fan. Rated 5 out of 5 by everything about this phone is great I've had this phone for all most a year and I have never had any problems me and my husbent have had countless other phone from countless other carriers and nothing compares to this phone and the carrier T-Mobile I will never go back I'm able to upgrade with jump but I'm waiting for the nexues 7 to come in September August 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The clean Android - Google Experience This phone has been out a year now and I would say it still holds its own against the modern flagships. It has a 1920x1080 screen giving you ~440PPi which is more than you can get with an iPhone currently, it has one of the better screens when it comes to color accuracy, sure, the S5 might have a vibrant screen but it's artificially vibrant and the colors are not true to what they are intended to be. It has a decent battery, I find myself charging it once every 24 hours with a typical 5 hour screen time, the main battery drain other than screen usage is Wi-Fi so I could probably get more if I was just using the mobile network. However, I do think this is where this phone will lose to newer smartphones with 3000+MAh batteries. It's quick. Very quick. Every phone I've ever tried from other manufacturers has always had slight lag in their UI and other elements. This is likely caused by their integrated skins/apps/bloatware. The Google Nexus has nothing but Google Apps with a completely stock android. Now, because it's Google, it isn't entirely stock android as they've added their own touch to it, namely the Google Now launcher which appears when you swipe left, but these are actually extremely helpful and Google does a great job in software design. Basically, this is Android in its raw form and it is far better than the other manufacturers designs, also, being a Google phone, there is no bloat, not even apps from T-Mobile, so no games or other junk. The downside to this, is no Wi-Fi Calling. It looks/feels great. It may be a "plastic phone" but the plastic is by no means cheap, it looks great and feels great, the front is essentially a shiny gloss black from top to bottom and the back is a nice rubberized plastic with the stylish Nexus logo. It feels great to hold in your hand, it's a great weight and a 5" screen is a pretty decent size, especially for my larger hands. My main issue with the build quality (STOP READING NOW AND SKIP AHEAD IF YOU HAVE OCD ABOUT TRIVIAL THINGS) is the power button rattles when you tap the phone (some do, some dont, hope yours doesn't) Other than that, this phone has built in Wi-Fi Calling, it's cheap, it's powerful, it's great, the camera is average but that's okay. The main selling point is you also get all the latest updates as they come out, no waiting August 14, 2014

Yes. You once your phone is paid off, it’s paid off. From that point on you will only pay be billed for the T-Mobile rate plan, and services, or features you’ve chosen.

When your new phone arrives simply follow the manufacturer’s set-up procedure and start using it. If you purchased a new T-Mobile SIM card to use in your own device, you will need to insert the new card and then you are good to go.

You can upgrade your phone at any time. If you have an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) you’ll need to pay that off first, then you’re free to select a new phone. It’s as easy as that. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

To find out if you’re eligible for a rebate or a promotion all you need to do is answer a few simple questions.

Other carriers recover the cost of the phone with higher recurring monthly rate plan charges. Their customers continue to pay higher monthly rates even after the phone is paid off. Only T-Mobile offers a plan that automatically lowers the cost of the monthly bill when the phone is paid off.

We offer free, overnight shipping on certain new phones and devices. Otherwise, we will send your purchase using standard 2-4 business days shipping. Look for special promotions where all phones and devices include free, overnight shipping.

No. When you group phones into a family plan when purchasing on T-Mobile.com, you must either pay for all of them up front, or over time.

No. If you choose to pay over time, your payments will be interest-free.

You must purchase insurance within the first 14 days of buying a new device. To learn more about Premium Handset Protection Insurance or to learn about our other bundled features simply follow the link.

If you cancel your service, you still need to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

Refurbished phones offered by T-Mobile have been inspected and tested to ensure they’re in good working order, and they all come with a limited 90-day warranty. They also come with the same return policy as our new devices: 20 days from the date of your order.

Unlike other carriers that give you a discounted rate on the phone up front and then bury the costs in your monthly bill, we charge you the full retail price. In order to make payments more manageable, qualifying new and current customers can take advantage of our Equipment Installment Plan (EIP).

    Here's how phone payments work:

EIP (Equipment Installment Plan) pricing allows qualifying customers to get a new phone with an initial down payment and make monthly payments on the phone for 20 months with no interest charges. For example, if you purchased a new phone for $550 and put $150 down, you pay $20/month for 20 months, plus the low monthly cost of your Value Plan. Value Plan pricing is only available at T-Mobile.

The following restrictions apply to all EIPs:

    • Non-Value plans, T‐Mobile Monthly4G prepaid plans and certain business accounts are not eligible for EIPs.
    • Customers in Washington, DC and Puerto Rico are not eligible for EIPs.
    • The minimum required purchase for an EIP is $19.99.
    • Due to state regulations, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, West Virginia and Wyoming do not allow purchases on a 24‐month EIP.
    • If you leave T-Mobile you’re still obligated to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

Learn more about our Equipment Installment Plan

Depending on which rate plan you choose, you may also be charged an add a line fee; see rate plan for details. Taxes and shipping will also be applied to your order total.

Whether you choose to pay for your device up front today, or pay over time, you can upgrade your device at any time. If your current device has not yet been paid off, you will need to continue to make payments on the existing balance. For the well-qualified buyer, pay over time pricing will spread interest-free payments over 24 months. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

You need a credit check for a couple of reasons. First, if you are applying for an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) it’s standard practice for us to check your credit. If you want to keep your existing phone number we need to determine if it’s eligible to be transferred.

Just like all other wireless carriers, T-Mobile has to charge enough to cover the cost of the phone. The difference is that T-Mobile separates the cost of the phone from the cost of the service. That means T-Mobile customers finish paying for their phone as soon the actual cost is paid off—and their monthly bill automatically drops.
