The added BlackBerry features are welcomed and screen is amazing. I had the Classic and didn't want to give it up and now I feel like I'm back with a trusted friend. The battery lasts all day, even after a fair amount of Google Maps. The only down side is 2 things, it heats up from the 808 processor and it's hard to find a good case. The new blackberry apps update ready for marshmellow especially the camera is a great improvement and this by far beats my htc,apple,samsung,and Nokia devices hand's down. Of course you need to know how to take pictures first, and lighting is key. The optics are sharp and the device gets me through my day. I take a star off for the semi-performing battery but it will last light users days with the right settings. May 17, 2016
    Rated 5 out of 5 by I-Phone to PRIV I Jumped on Demand, and got the PRIV. The build quality it top notch, it feels great in the hand, nice to hold. Bright clear screen, Gorilla Glass (whatever # they are up to). The Keyboard is a nice feature, but I find I don’t use it at all, its thin enough you don’t realize it has a keyboard, but its nice feature if you want it. Expandable storage which is very nice, Android (coming from IOS) has a learning curve; you have a lot more steps to get something done. I like the ability of customizing your home screen, but most Android people know that. Battery life: I get up at 4am, and remove the phone from the wireless charging pad, and return it around 8pm, and I have more than 50% charge left, I listen to Pandora to and from work, and the gym. Check e-mails when it dings (push notification). I would classify myself as moderate user. The things I don’t like is the blot wear from T-Mobile and the slow updating process, IOS updates everyone at the same time no matter who your provider is. Great camera, little laggy, but from what I’ve read 6.0 will address that issue, WHEN ever T-Mobile pushes it out. I think this phone has a lot of features that make it a great phone, but it’s a little $$$ on T-Mobile, BlackBerry sell’s it for less. May 17, 2016
    Rated 1 out of 5 by Not the phone for me Thought I would try the blackberry Priv after years with Samsung and HTC. I wanted someone else's take on the hardware that runs Android. Kind of like "thinking outside the box." The good about that... A slide out keyboard - super cool! Once you get used to the keys, you get spoiled with this keyboard really quickly. The Blackberry Hub - condenses all you input (text, email, twitter, etc,..) into one convenient spot. Very nice. Well that's about it on the good. Outside the box also means Blackberry is still trying to get basic things right that Samsung and HTC have down pat. The bad... Battery life - right off the bat, the first thing I noticed was the battery drain. My oh my, the battery drain... It's so bad I cannot leave this phone unplugged for any considerable amount of time (if I want to use it later in the day). Heat Generation - The phone gets hot even when not in use. Is it because I have it plugged in all day? Don't know, but every know and then I reach for it and the heat coming off this thing is significant. A little buggy running apps - The phone itself is buggy. I don't know if this is because of the OS or the hardware trying to run the OS and balance the applications it has running in the background. The only thing I can count on is that I cannot count on this phone to run when I really need it. Charging the battery - The battery charge is another problem. I had to upgrade all my charging devices to the quick charge. The amperage coming out of some of my wall chargers and computer were not enough to charge the phone. Only keep it at it's current battery level. You cannot image the frustration of charging your phone for four hours only to see the batters still at 33%. I wanted to use this phone as a GPS unit while backpacking. Alas, the poor battery life and need for higher amperage charging make this an impossibility. Nice first try Blackberry, I'm sure you get these things ironed out in a few more generations. May 4, 2016
    Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic phone! I've had my PRIV for a month and couldn't be happier. I love the BlackBerry keyboard again with all the Android features and power. The battery is the best battery I've ever had in a phone. My only complaint is T-Mobile not yet allowing text message notifications when one receives voice-mail. That means voicemail notifications do not appear in the BlackBerry Hub. This is a beautiful, full-feature phone with BlackBerry privacy. May 4, 2016

Video streaming off the tmobile backbone has been excellent. Photos look good and both keyboards work great. Only negative would be the battery life. I'm sure with the next major OS update, marshmallow, I'm sure battery life will greatly improve when correctly enforced by the end user. April 19, 2016
    Rated 1 out of 5 by Mediocre at best I decided on changing my LG V10 for the Blackberry Priv due to the fact I was pro Blackberry and the older models (including the Z10) were exceptional and I felt that my information and the equipment was secure and solid. The first week after getting this phone I had to return it since the phone was not charging correctly and I was having issues with LTE connectivity, the phone was returned and another one was give to me not even 15 minutes in the store the phone rebooted and stayed in safemode it has been 3 weeks and the phones has not come out of safemode amongst a slew of other problems this phone has an unnecessary dependency of google apps (which have been proven not to be safe and secure), auto restart, dropped calls, battery life and no accessories which may actually protect the unit. Since yesterday I just removed the sim card and started using my old LG Stylo. This phone is mediocre at best and really wouldn't recommend this phone to no one. April 17, 2016

    In most cases, the answer is yes. The first step is to check your phone to see if it’s compatible, and to find out what SIM card it uses. Then, you’ll simply select that SIM card and a plan. Once you receive your new SIM card in the mail, you’ll be ready to go.

    Unlike other carriers that give you a discounted rate on the phone up front and then bury the costs in your monthly bill, we charge you the full retail price. In order to make payments more manageable, qualifying new and current customers can take advantage of our Equipment Installment Plan (EIP).

    Here's how phone payments work:

    EIP (Equipment Installment Plan) pricing allows qualifying customers to get a new phone with an initial down payment and make monthly payments on the phone for 20 months with no interest charges. For example, if you purchased a new phone for $550 and put $150 down, you pay $20/month for 20 months, plus the low monthly cost of your Value Plan. Value Plan pricing is only available at T-Mobile.

    The following restrictions apply to all EIPs:

    • Non-Value plans, T‐Mobile Monthly4G prepaid plans and certain business accounts are not eligible for EIPs.
    • Customers in Washington, DC and Puerto Rico are not eligible for EIPs.
    • The minimum required purchase for an EIP is $19.99.
    • Due to state regulations, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, West Virginia and Wyoming do not allow purchases on a 24‐month EIP.
    • If you leave T-Mobile you’re still obligated to pay off the remaining balance of the device.

    Whether you choose to pay for your device up front today, or pay over time, you can upgrade your device at any time. If your current device has not yet been paid off, you will need to continue to make payments on the existing balance. For the well-qualified buyer, pay over time pricing will spread interest-free payments over 24 months. If you cancel wireless service, remaining balance on phone becomes due.

    You need a credit check for a couple of reasons. First, if you are applying for an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) it’s standard practice for us to check your credit. If you want to keep your existing phone number we need to determine if it’s eligible to be transferred.

    Just like all other wireless carriers, T-Mobile has to charge enough to cover the cost of the phone. The difference is that T-Mobile separates the cost of the phone from the cost of the service. That means T-Mobile customers finish paying for their phone as soon the actual cost is paid off—and their monthly bill automatically drops.
