J.D. Power and Associates 2009 Wireless Customer Care Performance StudySMVolume 1
For eight of the last nine reporting periods, T-Mobile received the highest ranking in overall customer care. This study measured how satisfied wireless customers are with the experience of calling into the customer service centers or visiting the retail locations of their respective providers. Factors included service experience created by the service representative in retail stores, online and over the phone, as well as functionality of the ARS (automated response system), one-contact resolution and hold times.

T-Mobile received the highest ranking in Overall Customer Satisfaction with Wireless Retail Service in a 2008 study. The study measures satisfaction from wireless customers who recently purchased a service plan or phone in a retail store in the past six months, looking at four key areas: sales staff, store display, store facility and price/promotion.

The 2009 Wireless Customer Care Performance StudyVolume 1 is based on responses from more than 13,000 wireless customers who contacted their carriers customer care department within the past year. The study was fielded July through December 2008.
The 2008 Wireless Retail Sales Satisfaction Study--Volume 1 is based on experiences reported by 6,634 wireless customers who completed a retail sales transaction within the past six months. The results are from the two most recent reporting waves, which were conducted in September 2007 and January 2008.
