Plug-In to eCycling

T-Mobile has partnered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to participate in its Plug-In to eCycling Campaign. The campaign, “Recycling Your Phone, It’s an Easy Call,” is one of many new efforts under the EPA's Resource Conservation Challenge which seeks to increase the national recycling rate to 35 percent, among other goals. The campaign aims to get the word out about opportunities to reuse and recycle your old computers, TVs, and cell phones, and to build momentum for even more reuse and recycling programs.

What is T-Mobile's recycling program?

T-Mobile's Handset Recycling Program promotes the recycling and reuse of old wireless devices that might otherwise end up in landfills or incinerators. The goal of the program is to protect the environment through reuse or proper disposal of wireless equipment and accessories.

What if my phone is old or doesn't work. Can I still recycle it?

Yes. T-Mobile will accept all wireless phones, batteries, PDAs, and accessories.

Why should I recycle my old wireless equipment?

In general, a wireless phone handset consists of 40% metals, 40% plastics, and 20% ceramics and other trace materials. The goal of the Handset Recycling Program is to recycle old phones for further use if possible, or if not, to dispose of them in an environmentally friendly way. We may repair, refurbish, or recycle depending on its condition and demand for your phone. By recycling your old equipment, you can help protect the environment.
